Manager - Disaster Risk Management Job in Plan Bangladesh


Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centered development organization with no religious, political or government affiliations working in 70 countries across the globe with its headquarters in the UK. Plan works with over one million children, their families and communities in 50 developing countries around the world, implementing projects at the grass root and national level in health, education, water and sanitation, income generation and cross cultural communication. Plan is registered with the United Nations following recognition in 1989 and has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and UNICEF. We are inviting applications for following positions:

Manager - Disaster Risk Management
Based in Dhaka + Consolidated Monthly Salary Tk. 115,000.00 - 140,000.00

Reporting to the Deputy Country Director, you will be responsible for implementation of Plan Bangladesh's Disaster Risk Management Program so that children, young people, communities and partners are better able to mitigate the effects of disasters and respond appropriately in line with global best practice and standards. On a regular basis, you will work with communities and partners to identify risks of natural disaster; ensure that they are prepared to deal with these risks and support them in responding when they are affected; increase the level of analysis and preparedness at country and partner level in order to determine the role Plan Bangladesh will play in the event of an emergency; develop and extend Plan's capacity to enter into strategic alliances with other humanitarian agencies and governmental entities before, during and after disasters; ensure the contribution of children in all aspects of disaster risk reduction to enhance their preparedness and protect their interests during emergencies. For this role, you should have minimum 8 years' experience in disaster risk management with Master's degree preferably in DRM. You must possess highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, together with an ability to work under stressful situations.
