Concern Worldwide is an international humanitarian organisation dedicated to elimination of extreme poverty. Currently we have opening for the following position in our Internal Audit Department:

Manager- Internal Audit:
The Internal Audit Manager (1AM) will carry out an independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and standards by which financial, physical and information resources are managed in Concern Bangladesh and its implementing partners organizations. 1AM will facilitate in risk management and carrying out value for money reviews thereby assisting Concern Bangladesh management in effective discharge of their responsibilities. This includes on-going assessment of quality of controls and their compliance level to ensure highest level of transparency, accountability, consistency and integrity in resource management in the organization. This is a senior permanent position reporting to Country Director.

Major areas of responsibility:
  • To work with Senior Management Team (SMT) to ensure a system is in place which ensures that all major risks of the organization are identified and analysed, on regular basis (at least on an annual basis)
  • To plan, organise and carry out the internal audit function including the preparation of an audit plan which fulfils the responsibility of the department, scheduling and assigning work and estimating resource needs
  • To provide management with an opinion on the internal controls in the organization and Partner NGOs in the context of development sector and the progress against established indicators.
  • To make recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed, report on the findings and recommendations and monitor management's response and implementation by Concern and its Partner NGOs
  • To coordinate coverage with the external auditors (including Government auditor, funding agencies' auditor, Concern headquarter auditor and any other auditor hired by Concern Bangladesh management) and ensure that each party is not only aware of the other's work but also well briefed on areas of concern.
  • To review and report on the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of the financial and other information that is provided for management
  • To report on the value for money that the organization obtains in all rts activities with special regard to economy, efficiency and effectiveness
  • To lead a team of staff in a manner that empowers them to deliver an effective audit service.

Key Requirements:
  • Qualified Accountant (CIA/ACA/ACMA/ACCA), Experienced candidates with-'Masters Degree in Commerce/Accounting/ Management    with Chartered Accountants (CA) Course completed and experienced Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) part qualified can also apply.
  • At least 3 years progressively responsible professional work experience in the area of Internal Audit;
  • Experience of managing a team;
  • Detailed knowledge of current best practice m International financial and audit standards, and Regulations.
  • Knowledge on current taxation and NGO Bureau regulation;
  • Experience of working in an International Organisation and good understanding of development work in Bangladesh

Salary:
Starting salary TK 75,130 with other benefits including Gratuity, Bonus, Provident Fund Contribution, medical, insurance etc. Negotiable for deserving candidates.
